Student Express Benefits

  • Policy Maximum: $250,000
  • Deductible: $100 or $50 based on citizenship
  • Co-insurance:
    • US citizens studying in abroad:
      • Plan A & B: 80% to $10,000, then 100% to plan maximum
      • Plan C & D: 100% to plan maximum
      • Plan E & F: 80% to plan maximum
    • NON US citizens studying in US
      • Plan M & O: 80% to $10,000, then 100% to plan maximum
  • Mental illness
    • Inpatient - Payable at 50%, up to $10,000 up to a max of 45 days.
    • Outpatient - Payable at 80% , up to $500.
  • Sports Coverage
    • Non-US Students - $5,000.
    • US-Students - Up to policy Maximum.
  • Additional Coverage
    • Accidental death & dismemberment - $10,000 for insured.
    • Alcohol and drug abuse - Inpatient/Outpatient (payable at 50% up to $1,000)
    • Home country coverage - $1,000.
  • Other Emergency Care
    • Emergency Medical Evacuation - Up to $100,000.
    • Repatriation of Mortal Remains - Up to $25,000.

  • Plan life: The minimum period of coverage under Student Express is 15 days, maximum is 12 months.

Student Express satisfies j1 visa requirements

  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of at least $50,000 per accident or illness and Student Express Insurance satisfies this requirement by offering a maximum medical benefit of $250,000
  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of $7,500 for Repatriation of remains and Student Express Insurance covers repatriation of remains up to $25,000
  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of $10,000 for Emergency Medical Evacuation and Student Express Insurance covers emergency medical evacuation up to $100,000
  • J1 Visa requires that the deductible should not exceed $500 per accident or illness and Student Express Insurance has a deductible of up to $100 per illness or injury
