Patriot Exchange Benefits

  • Policy Maximum:
    • Standard Plan - Choice of $50,000, $250,000 or $500,000 per illness or injury with a lifetime maximum of $5,000,000.
    • Basic Plan - $10,000 per illness or injury with a lifetime maximum of $5,000,000.
  • Deductible: $100 deductible per illness or injury.
  • Treatment period: 60 days per chronic illness.
  • Co-insurance: No Co-insurance.
  • Eligibility:
    • This plan is open to all students who are pursuing academic activities outside of their home country and their dependent.
    • The plan is also open to F2 and J2 Visa holders irrespective of whether the F1 or J1 visa holders have bought this plan or not.
  • Dental:
    • Injury due to accident: Up to $500.
    • Sudden dental pain: Up to $350.
  • Medical Evacuation:
    • Basic Short Term Plant: $25,000 Lifetime Maximum.
    • Standard Short Term Plan: $50,000 Lifetime Maximum.
  • Repatriation:
    • Basic Short Term Plant: $7,500 Lifetime Maximum.
    • Standard Short Term Plan: $25,000 Lifetime Maximum.
  • Additional Coverage:
    • Home country coverage - Up to cumulative two weeks.
    • Terrorism - Up to $50,000 lifetime maximum.
    • Accidental death & dismemberment - $5,000.
  • Optional Add-on:
    • Optional Loss/theft of baggage Rider: $250.
    • Loss/theft valuables: $250.
    • Loss/theft personal papers $250.
    • Optional Sports Rider: For HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS ONLY.
  • Optional Adventure Sports Rider:
    • Valid for those up to the age of 65.
    • Following activities are covered to the lifetime maximum amounts listed below: Abseiling, BMX, bobsleigh, bungee jumping, canyoning, caving, hang gliding, heli-skiing, high diving, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, inline skating, jet skiing, jungle zip lining, kayaking, mountain biking, paragliding, parascending, piloting a non-commerical aircraft, rappelling, rock climbing or mountaineering (ropes and guides to 4500m from ground level), scuba diving (to 50m), skydiving, snow boarding, snowmobiling, snow skiing, spelunking, surfing, trekking, whitewater rafting (to Class V), and wildlife safaris. These adventure activities must be engaged in solely for leisure, recreation, or entertainment purposes.
    • Coverage per injury/illness:
      0-49 years: $50,000 lifetime maximum.
      50-59 years: $30,000 lifetime maximum.
      60-64 years: $15,000 lifetime maximum.
  • Plan Life: May be renewed for up to 48 months.
  • Underwriter: Underwritten by Sirius International Insurance Corporation, a White Mountains Insurance Group Company.
 

Acute onset of pre-existing condition coverage

A pre-existing condition is defined as any injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental or nervous condition, disorder or ailment that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or at any time during the three years prior to the effective date of the insurance, whether or not previously manifested or symptomatic, diagnosed, treated, or disclosed prior to the effective date, including any subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or arising therefrom.

Patriot Exchange satisfies J1 visa requirements

  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of at least $50,000 per accident or illness and Patriot Exchange satisfies this requirement by offering the following medical maximums: Standard Plan: $50,000, $250,000, $500,000 per illness or injury with a lifetime maximum of $5,000,000.
  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of $7,500 for Repatriation of remains and Patriot Exchange Standard Plan covers repatriation of remains up to $25,000.
  • J1 Visa requires that the insurance plan must offer a coverage of $10,000 for Emergency Medical Evacuation and Patriot Exchange covers emergency medical evacuation up to $50,000 lifetime maximum.
  • J1 Visa requires that the deductible should not exceed $500 per accident or illness and Patriot Exchange Insurance has a deductible of $100 per illness or injury.
